I can't speak about Q2 RTX, but Q2E supported either "Q3-style shaders" or "Doom 3 materials" depending on version (up to 0.46 or starting from 0.65 respectively).

This is quite embarrasing but I lost all the Q2E code I had when my disk died ages ago. Some time ago I was willing to play a bit with it, update some things in the code and stuff, mostly for personal use (tho I'd release the code to the public anyway if there was some interest) but I was never able...

Yeah, Gavin will fix the templates definition file soon, so keep an eye for updates.

I'll be working on the weapons code very soon now, so you'll be able to shoot and kill each other, but until we get proper (and complete) animations you won't be able to see player models in other than a T-pose.
